The Berlin Wall
Although the Berlin Wall has long disappeared, the memory of this structure that
divided the city is still alive. Many visi r from all over the world are surprised
and disappointed that so few remains can be found. It is almost impossible retrace
the former course of the Wall. The complex system of barriers, watch wers and anti-vehicle
trenches have almost completely disappeared. It is evident that the once separated
city has grown gether. Viewable remains of the Wall are near the Oberbaumbrücke
(East-Side-Gallery), Checkpoint Charlie, Niederkirchner Strasse, Mauerpark and in
the Wall Memorial, Bernauer Strasse.
